MEET THE DESIGNER VIS A VIS
Could you please introduce yourself and your brand?
VIS A VIS is a street wear label based in Vienna. The label was founded by 22 year old Andrea Kerber in April 2016. VIS A VIS represents the interaction between noble an urban clothing. The apparent contrasts blend together perfectly and create a signature look. Another feature of the brand is the cozy and simple cuts, which ensure wearability and comfort. The label focuses on quality, craftsmanship and timeless design.
Where do you find inspiration for your collections?
VIS A VIS draws its inspiration from music, different fabrics, people and icons. The diversitiy in Vienna concerning different cultures and people affect VIS A VIS. During drinking coffee and listening music, I watch people passing by. But also some special fabrics are able to trigger a new idea.
Your collections are modern and feminine, perfectly encapsulate the character of the contemporary woman. What is the ideal woman you design for like? Do you have a muse?
The ideal woman I design for is a self-confident and strong. The idea behind VIS A VIS is to dress women who want to look fashionable and find comfort important at the same time.
My muse is definitely Caroline de Maigret.
You created a jewelry collection with jewelry brand Nadine Now, which we also have in store, and also asked a few questions from the designer, Nadine on this blog. Could you please tell a bit more about how the collaboration came into life?
Two years ago Nadine and I met up in Vienna searching for a flat. We stayed in contact and when we launched our labels and became self-emplyed, we decided to create a collaboration.
What exciting plans do you have for the year ahead?
In September I am part of the Vienna Fashion Week, so for now I have to prepare all the looks for the Show.

BERLIN FASHION WEEK RECAP
Last week we had a ton of fun at our special events during Berlin Fashion Week. We also attended spectacular fashion shows, visited the biggest trade shows in town, discovered cool, new designers, and of course partied with fabulous fashionistas!
Let’s revisit what happened during this event-packed, fashion-heavy week!
MARTIN MARGIELA ARCHIVE POP-UP
We started the week in our Flagship Store in Mitte with a very special opening night for our Maison Martin Margiela Archive Vernissage and Pop-Up. We presented unique pieces, iconic accessories from the designer’s early collections, alongside lookbooks, exhibition catalogues, and original fashion show recordings from the ‘90s screened on VHS.
The fashion-pack joined in full force to celebrate the ever-relevant designer - thank you for everyone who joined us on this journey!
See the highlights of the night as a collection of images on our blogpost about the event!
AVEDA STYLING LOUNGE
Our lovely group of influencers and the amazing Aveda Team made the second day of the week very special.
The influencers selected their favourite pieces from our designers, while the professional hairstylists and make-up artists of Aveda brought out their best features before they posed for photographer, Mark Hunt.
See the images all over Instagram and the Berlin blogosphere, and check out a collection of behind the scenes images of the shoot on our blogpost.
IVANMAN FASHION SHOW AND DISPLAY
On Tuesday many designers showed their latest collections on the runway, but we specifically liked IVANMAN, who also displayed his strongest pieces on the Designer Shop floor of MBFWB. Playing with workwear references and clubbing appropriate pieces in royal blue and black, with patches of neon yellow, orange and green thrown into the mix.
IOANA CIOLACU FASHION SHOW

Our other favourite of the day was the London College of Fashion graduate and Romanian designer, Ionana Ciolacu, whose ethereal collection of flowy fabrics and feminine silhouettes left us mesmerised.
NATHINI VAN DER MEER PRESENTATION

In the evening, the promising young talent, Nathini Van Der Meer presented her latest offering of artschool cool kids from the ‘70s, modelled in front of life-sized paintings depicting people wearing her designs. We loved the atmosphere and look forward to seeing more from her!
I DREAM OF SHAPES X MARIE MAY ART INSTALLATION VERNISSAGE
On the same day in our Bikini Berlin store, we fused art with fashion at the opening night celebrating the creative collaboration between the designer I Dream of Shapes and the French artist, Marie May. Ben Smith and HC Kurtz provided the electronic tunes to dance to, and our generous sponsors took care of the drinks for everyone.
BEN SMITH PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION OPENING
The artist displayed his sublime photography in our window space and projected a few conceptual works for the guests to enjoy.
The night was made more enjoyable by the tracks of HC Kurtz, and the artist himself also got behind the DJ decks.
In between the shows and preparations, we popped into some of the extensive trade shows to meet fresh talent amongst the 1000+ designers who presented their collections. We definitely found a huge number of interesting designs and dedicated fashion creatives - it was worth the visit!
We also bumped into our unique Studio183 jacket at Bright, styled brilliantly by one of our customers.
STEINROHNER FASHION SHOW

On Thursday we attended the magical fashion show of Steinrohner, where the models walked in transparent flowing garments reminiscent of snow crystals. The feminine silhouettes were adorned with flower prints surprisingly made from technical fabrics. We swooned over this beauty!
STICK AND POKE TATTOO PARLOR WITH MYRIAM KORIAT
On Thursday, we welcomed the lovely tattoo artist Myriam Koriat in our Flagship store in Mitte, who worked her magic on our guests’ body canvases in stick and poke style, while DJs Dan Meyer and Oda Haliti played the coolest tunes. We celebrated with Dr. Koehler prosecco and sipped on gin and tonic from Windspiel manufaktur.
LIVE ART-FASHION PERFORMANCE with CHRISTINA KNOBBE
On the last day of Berlin Fashion Week we had the chance to present the spellbinding performance of our resident Berlin artist, Christina Knobbe. The artist painted her signature style live onto a garment worn by our wonderful model, Maurice. Christina’s abstract swirling shapes kept us hypnotised for quite a while!
Monolit provided the musical backdrop to the night and complementary beverages were served to all of our lovely guests by Michelberger Fountain of Youth, Kreutzbergs Regenerativum, Hoos London Gin, Dr. Koehler, and Windspiel manufaktur.
JUAN CARLOS CASASOLA ART INSTALLATION VERNISSAGE
Our guests could be part of this collaborative art project by donating their old clothes to support art and recycling for a good cause during Fashion Week- and see the results on Friday at the vernissage.
ODEUR FASHION SHOW @ BERLIN FASHION WEEK
Among all the preparations for our events we made sure to attend the Odeur Studios Fashion show on Friday, the last day of Berlin Fashion Week, where we could admire their talent for creating sportswear-inspired, contemporary designs with an edge.
FASHION WEEK CLOSING PARTY @ STUDIO183 FLAGSHIP STORE
We closed the week with a huge celebration of fashion and the Berlin design scene in our Flagship Store in Mitte. Thank you to everyone who attended, we had a blast, and can’t wait for the next one!
