Studio Obectra was founded by the Slovenian designer Blaž Čuk who began his fashion label in 2010, whilst a student in Ljubljana. His creativity and entrepreneurial finesse led him to emerge as Slovenia’s most promising fashion designer one year later. In 2012 Studio Obectra relocated to Berlin and has been developing one unisex collection per year to “slow down this fast fashion Industry”.
“This look, from my last collection Zwei, presented in Halle am Berghain at BAFW April 2017 is one of my favourites. It´s a perfect balance between soft and hard. Hand moulded leather armour on a light, flowing dress and presented with a mystical face cover. It just seems perfect to me.”

You have been developing many fashion collections. Do you have a favourite? I couldn’t talk about a favourite one, since collections are like my babies. In all of them, I put everything I know and have and am proud about every one.
In 2012, you moved from your home country Slovenia to produce your fashion label in Berlin. Why did you decide to make this change and how would you describe your German adventure so far? I always knew Slovenia would be too small for me and around 10 years ago, I visited Berlin for the first time and it was love at first sight. After, I did everything in my power to make the move happen and in 2011 my dream came true. The German adventure started. In 2012, I presented my first collection in a showroom during Berlin Fashion Week and since then, the adventure hasn’t stopped. It was the best decision of my life. I‘m so grateful!
Any specific plan in mind for 2018? Long time ago, I promised myself that every year I need to make a step forward. With that, I always have too many plans and too many ideas. Lets see what the year will bring.
